How does Sway.ly work?
Sway.ly is an AI-powered app that helps families stay safe on social media (YouTube, TikTok & Instagram, with more to come).
- It scans your feeds and flags harmful content such as hate, violence, or misinformation.
- It alerts you if your child is seeing risky content.
- It explains why content may be harmful and offers guidance for healthier online habits.
- It helps you improve your family's feeds over time.
Unlike traditional blocking tools, Sway.ly teaches safer choices, helping your family build a healthier online experience.
Is Sway.ly blocking content?
No. Sway.ly is not a blocking service, but Tesco Mobile has additional parental controls you can set, find more information on these here.
Sway.ly is different and unique in the market, it highlights when harmful content is being consumed through social media, and encourages conversation to promote safer online activity.
Some of the harmful content it highlights includes: misogyny, manosphere and toxicity, harmful beauty and body image messages, racism and hate speech among many others. This is the type of content that affects 79% of people and isn't addressed by traditional blocking tools. Sway.ly helps families spot it, understand it, and create healthier feeds.
Do I need to install it on every device?
You only need to install Sway.ly on your own parent/carer device, as well as on your child's main device (the one they use every day). Once set up, Sway.ly monitors the social media accounts themselves, wherever they're accessed and whether on WiFi or mobile data. One subscription covers everything, however, you and your child can install it in as many devices as you'd like.
